Adobe Acrobat and PDFs

Most everyone has used Adobe Acrobat and/or a PDF at some point in their lifetime. A lot people though, don’t know what they really have to offer. There are a number of features that Adobe Acrobat has that are especially useful for designers.

Combining PDFs
One of the more useful features of Adobe Acrobat, in my opinion, is the ability to combine various PDF files into one document. This feature allows you to combine various file types and documents of different sizes into one PDF or into a “package”. When combining files, Adobe Acrobat makes it really easy to find the documents you want and even allows you to choose which pages of a document to include. This feature would be really useful for teams who need to bring together multiple different documents or other events when various document types need to be brought into one file.

Commenting
Commenting is another very useful feature of Adobe Acrobat. This allows for long distance group collaboration. There are a number of ways to make a comment including: sticky notes, highlighting, text editing, callouts and voice recordings. Commenting is extremely useful for anyone and any type of PDF, whether it’s text or image.

Color Profiles
Before printing, you should make sure to choose the appropriate color profile. Every profile, the computer being used, the programs being used, and the printer being used, have different definitions for R, G, and B. This means that depending on the profile you choose, the colors will print differently. This fact is important to keep in mind. So when your colors aren’t printing out correctly, it probably isn’t the printer’s fault!
